What we know today
Shabeena is one of 657 houseboats registered on Dal Lake. We have not stayed on it ourselves, so rather than guess at the rooms, we ask the owner and tell you exactly what they say.
- Registered on Dal Lake with the Kashmir Houseboat Owners Association.
- Reachable through the owner directly — we have the contact.
- Can be arranged for any dates the owner confirms as free.
Is this your houseboat? Send photographs and details to bookmyhouseboat0@gmail.com and we will build a full listing — photographs, rooms, meals — at no cost.
What We Will Find Out for You
- Availability
- Whether the boat is genuinely free on your nights — confirmed by the owner, not by a calendar.
- Rooms and capacity
- How many bedrooms, which are ensuite, how many guests the boat sleeps comfortably.
- Meals
- What is cooked on board and what is included in the nightly rate.
- Mooring and access
- Which ghat, how long the shikara crossing takes, and whether a cab can reach it easily.
- Rate
- One written price for your dates, with nothing added by us.
How the Enquiry Works
01
You send the name and dates
Shabeena, your nights and how many of you there are.
02
We check with the owner
A phone call to the family that runs the boat, the same day.
03
We quote in writing
Rooms, meals, rate — and an honest note on anything you should know.
04
We arrange the transfer
Shikara from the ghat at your arrival time, cabs if you need them.
If You Would Rather See Photographs First
Six houseboats on Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake we know personally — stayed on, photographed, owners met. If Shabeena turns out to be booked, one of these is usually the next best answer.
