We call the family that runs the boat and confirm the rooms are genuinely free on your nights.

We arrange the transfer

Shikara from the ghat at your arrival time, plus cabs if you need them. You pay the owner directly.

Questions About Booking a Houseboat

Do you show houseboat prices on the site?

No. We are a Srinagar agency and we do not own the boats, so every rate is confirmed with the owner before we quote. Send us the boat, your dates and the number of guests and you will have a written price the same day.

What is the difference between the six boats here and the rest of the list?

These six we know personally — we have stayed on them, met the owners and photographed the rooms. The other 657 are registered on Dal Lake with the Kashmir Houseboat Owners Association; we can arrange a stay on any of them, we simply describe them honestly rather than guess.

Can you arrange a specific houseboat I have already heard of?

Yes. Search the name in the directory below or send it to us on WhatsApp. If the boat is registered on Dal Lake we can reach the owner.

How do we get to the houseboat?

Every stay includes a shikara transfer from the ghat. Tell us your arrival time and we will have the boatman waiting; airport and Dalgate cabs can be arranged too.

Is there a booking fee?

No fee to enquire, and nothing payable to us. You pay the houseboat owner directly on the terms we confirm in writing.
